Gigi Rygh, LCSW, is the AIM medical social worker. She received her B.S. from the University of Minnesota, Mankato and her M.S.W. from Eastern Washington University. Gigi moved to Alaska in 1991 for adventure and found her new home. Her earlier career focused on therapy for children and families. She worked in a variety of settings including inpatient, residential, school and community based services. In 2000 she transitioned to the hospital setting and discovered her passion working with individuals to achieve their quality of life goals. Gigi was the Lead Medical Social worker at Alaska Regional hospital for the past 10 years with special training/certifications in palliative care, mediation, critical incident stress debriefing and grief counseling. She is excited to join the AIM team to be a part of improving health care delivery in Alaska.
